Pontius Pilate shouts out 'Ecce Homo' (behold the man) to the large crowd in the courtyard as Jesus stands there bowed.
I decided to leave Pilate out of the picture so I could add to the isolation of Jesus, and make the scene more powerful. Most of the crowd have turned against Jesus and cry out, 'Crucify him!' -Peter Howson, 2026
