Robin Hood: The Arts of Occupation

Robin Hood: The Arts of Occupation is a V&A East publication, developed by the V&A East Robin Hood Young Producers. The project explores the history and communities of the now-demolished Robin Hood Gardens in Poplar, London, drawing on the Robin Hood legend as a lens through which to examine themes of social housing, gentrification, and belonging.

Edited by Ikram Chowdhury, the publication brings together personal narratives—poetry, stories, artworks, interviews, recipes, and reflections—from former residents.

The publication was reprinted on the occasion of the exhibition: David Hepher: The Elegy of Robin Hood Gardens at Flowers Gallery, Cork Street, London, 15 October – 15 November 2025.
