John Keane discusses the origins of his interest in the politics of conflict and its representation through painting. The talk will be illustrated with work produced both in the studio and from numerous field trips including Central America, the Middle East, Northern Ireland and Africa. He will also discuss his new show Flat Earth, which draws on recent political convulsions, information wars, conspiracy theories and environmental catastrophe.
