Guildhall, London
23 October 2026 - 21 March 2027

Celebrating the highly anticipated arrival of the Bayeux Tapestry in the UK, Beyond Bayeux: Tapestry Now explores the past, present and future of tapestry at Guildhall Art Gallery in London, featuring After Benches, 1973, by Tom Phillips CBE RA (1937-2022).

Created in collaboration with Guildhall Art Gallery, the exhibition brings together more than 20 artists who are redefining tapestry today. Featuring extraordinary collaborations between Dovecot's master weavers and leading artists including David Hockney, Yinka Shonibare, Tania Kovats, Alberta Whittle and Rachel Maclean, alongside major new commissions with Hurvin Anderson and Farshid Moussavi, the exhibition showcases the weaver's remarkable skill.

Discover how today's artists are reimagining one of the world's oldest art forms. Beyond Bayeux: Tapestry Now invites you to rethink what tapestry can be and explore its continuing relevance in the 21st century.
