Luka Yuanyuan Yang exhibited in the FENIX museum

We're excited to share that Together (2022) by Luka Yuanyuan Yang is now part of the permanent collection and opening exhibition at FENIX museum in Rotterdam, which explores the theme of migration. The work reflects on the 1882 Chinese Exclusion Act-America's first immigration ban targeting a specific nation-which separated countless families. Yang reconstructs this history through a collage of portraits from both sides of a divided family, reunited using early darkroom techniques.
Yang's inclusion at the FENIX museum coincides with the premiere of her new film 'Chinatown Cha-Cha' at High Line Art and Roxy Cinema, in conjunction with 'Tales of Chinatown', an exhibition at the Highline showing three of Yang's short films: 'Cantonese Tunes on Mott Street' (2022), 'The Lady from Shanghai' (2019), and 'Tales of Chinatown' (2019), showing until 9 July.
