Reflecting Angela's appreciation of art in its many forms, the exhibition will display work by established and emerging artists practicing a number of disciplines including photography, installation, illustration, painting, video and sculpture. Among them are photographers Nadav Kander and Edward Burtynsky, pop artist Richard Smith, sculptors Phillip King, Michael Sandle and Nicola Hicks, painters Ken Currie and John Loker, and mixed media artist Tom Phillips.
Largely presenting works made specifically for this exhibition, the show will offer more than 40 exhibiting artists the opportunity to contribute to a display that will highlight Angela Flowers' enormous and continuing contribution to the arts and to artists themselves. Angela says:
Angela Flowers at 80 is both a nod to a colourful past and a demonstration that, after more than 40 years, Flowers continues to support and nurture artists with unwavering passion and commitment.
