Autumn in England, 1988, is a glorious example of William Crozier's skill as a truly vibrant colourist. Within Crozier's practice from the mid 1980's to mid 1990's the artist explored total freedom in his chosen palette. As we can see in Autumn in England, Crozier incorporated pale pinks alongside Naples yellow, ultramarine, peppermint greens and lavender, his English landscape becoming in equal parts real and fantastical.
