Currently working from TKE Studios in Margate, British artist Layla Andrews' (b. 1997) paintings explore the complexities of the human condition; the ways we navigate, endure, and make sense of the world.
In her paintings, crocodiles become vessels for exploring the tension between resilience and vulnerability and the complexities of being human. Through these ancient figures, Andrews examines how we project our inner states onto other forms, discovering reflections of our own emotional lives in unexpected places.
