Multidisciplinary artist Cian McLoughlin (b. 1977) brings traditional painterly techniques into dialogue with contemporary technologies. Using oil paint, pastel, linen, lasers, mylar stencils, 3D printing, and facial recognition, he explores how technology reshapes the language and possibilities of painting. Developed through his research fellowship at the Trinity College Institute of Neuroscience (2024), McLoughlin's work explores humans as interconnected systems of thought, sensation, and gesture.
