British artist David Leapman (b. 1959) produces abstract and prolific script-like mark-making paintings. His imagery has evolved slowly through producing monochromatic drawings throughout his career. These drawings have developed the pictorial language of his paintings, blending cursive and linear expressions with personal emblems.
Leapman is represented in various public collections such as the V&A, British Council, Arts Council of Great Britain, and the Saatchi Collection. Leapman was the first prize winner at the 1995-6 John Moores Liverpool Exhibition.
