I recycle old fabrics, combining them, just as you would mix paints, to create landscape pictures that convey quiet stillness, as well as the ebb and flow of light and seasons. Shapes are built by overlapping layers of fabric, and I like to incorporate any original stitching, as well as age marks - fading, fold lines and seam edges. Most fabrics I use as I find them, others I will dye so as to create an exact colour. Once the picture is composed, that is it. I do not add paint.
