Focused on advocating for women's rights, Hanieh Yavari (b. 1998) is an Iranian, London-based photographer. Growing up in Iran, she witnessed systemic neglect of women, shaping her commitment to address these issues through art. After studying Graphic Design at Alzahra University and completing a Master of Photography at the University of the Arts London, she gained broader perspectives on gender and identity.
Drawing on personal experience, Yavari uses self-portraiture to explore the complexities of womanhood within a restrictive society. Her work highlights the challenges faced by women in Iran while connecting them to global struggles for gender equality. Through her practice, she reflects on personal and political themes, using photography to encourage dialogue and support social justice.
