London-based British artist Sara Berman (b. 1975) reinterprets the power and agency of the archetypal figure of the Harlequin with performative flair. Berman uses paint as a means of both examination and obliteration, creating complex visual layering and narrative. Her work seeks to challenge the construct of the female experience, whilst claiming power through self-determination.
