'Corrugated Fence' is an example of recent experiments with mono-printing using studio detritus such as bubble wrap, as well as moving between putting paint on and taking it off using items like sandpaper, as in the case of this work. I consider works on paper to be finished paintings in their own right, but they often contain elements that find their way into larger works.
London-based Deborah Lerner (b. 1989) graduated from Camberwell College of Art in 2023 and was awarded a scholarship to the inaugural Apollo Painting School in 2024. In 2025, Lerner participated in a duo show with British artist Prunella Clough (1919-1999) thank you for dinner at Flexitron Gallery, London.
