Sue Kennington's (b. 1955) practice revolves around how colour can communicate an atmosphere and provoke a reaction in the viewer. Based between London and central Italy, Kennington has spent the last twenty years exploring colour through her exhaustive library of colour samples and rigorous mathematical discipline, resulting in an immediacy of touch and flow in her work. The paintings spring from a dialogue of rational numbers-based colour intervals, with rapid gestural movement.
