Ashley Cluer Suburban Delight, 2025

In Suburban Delight, London-based sculptor Ashley Cluer (b. 2001) paints a composite, abstract image that explores her favourite aspects of everyday living. Her layered application of oil paint onto a concrete canvas pushes the material far beyond its intended use, resulting in a physical manifestation of her internal thoughts and feelings.

Cluer graduated from The Ruskin School of Fine Art and Drawing, University of Oxford, in 2022. In 2025, Cluer was nominated for the PSSA Marsh Award of Excellence in Public Sculpture and was shortlisted as a finalist for The Ingram Prize.
