Deeply rooted in reductionism, Jo Hummel's (b. 1982) work is expressed through the use of symbols and geometry. The woven paintings use indigo and clay pigments to investigate deep time through material and process. Weaving functions as both structure and metaphor, building layers of pigment and indigo in slow, meditative rhythms.
