My artwork is confessional, personal, and wrought with individual guilt, but as with all personal work, the universal aspects of the human condition are implicit. I often use abstraction to explore the emotional depth of existence.
Born in 1977 in Quilcene, Washington, Benjamin Heiken earned his BFA from the Pacific Northwest College of Art (PNCA) and his MFA from the Slade School of Fine Art. Having lived throughout the Pacific Northwest as well as in Spain and the United Kingdom, he now resides in London.
