Carl Randall (b. 1975) is a figurative artist whose work is based on London and Japan. A graduate of the Slade School, the Royal Drawing School, and Tokyo University of Fine Arts, he has exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery and Royal Academy. After ten years in Japan, with residencies in Hiroshima and Shizuoka, he received awards such as The Sunday Times Watercolour Competition and the Nomura Art Prize. His work is represented in various institutions, including The Royal Collection, London; University College London Art Museum, London; and Tokyo Geidai Art Museum, Tokyo.
In Chinatown London, Randall captures the area's distinct atmosphere through flat patterns and a blue-orange contrast, inspired by ten years spent in East Asia and the blend of cultures in London's Chinatown.
