London-based sculptor Alexandra Harley (b 1958) studied at Wimbledon School of Art and St Martin's School of Art. A member of the Royal Society of Sculptors (Trustee 2016-19) and The London Group, they exhibit widely in the UK and internationally.
The 2024 Piruleta is a small bronze sculpture created through the lost-wax process. A tightly knotted form leans outward from its alabaster base, the two materials counterbalancing one another in a dynamic exchange of tension and balance.
Harley has participated in international symposia in the USA and Caribbean, exhibited with ICRE in Barcelona, and received recognition in juried exhibitions such as the Ashurst Sculpture Prize, Cork Street Open, and the RA Summer Exhibition.
