London-based sculptor Alexandra Harley (b. 1958) studied at Wimbledon School of Art and St Martin's School of Art. A member of the Royal Society of Sculptors (Trustee 2016-19) and The London Group, they exhibit widely in the UK and internationally.
The 2023/2025 Trunkle is a bronze sculpture created through the lost-wax process with steam-bent bamboo as its armature. Its open structure explores dynamic energy and tension, with interwoven elements that wrap around a central core, each contributing to the work's overall motion and balance.
Harley has participated in international symposia in the USA and Caribbean, exhibited with ICRE in Barcelona, and received recognition in juried exhibitions such as the Ashurst Sculpture Prize, Cork Street Open, and the RA Summer Exhibition.
