Canadian-born Sheila Vollmer (b. 1961) is a London-based sculptor. She studied Sculpture at St. Martin's School of Art, London, following a BA (Hons) in Art from the University of Guelph, Canada. Vollmer is Sculpture Programme Manager at Morley College, London, and has been a member of APT Studios since its founding in 1995.
Vollmer's oeuvre focuses on geometric and organic abstract sculpture using wood, steel, Perspex, and found objects to investigate concepts of line, form, space, rhythm and mood.
Pezzo is a new departure cutting and joining found piano keys with mini hinges finding a new composition, space and rhythm while celebrating the forms, colours and suggested sounds of this instrument.
