Canadian-born Sheila Vollmer (b. 1961) is a London-based sculptor. She studied Sculpture at St. Martin's School of Art, London, following a BA (Hons) in Art from the University of Guelph, Canada. Vollmer is Sculpture Programme Manager at Morley College, London, and has been a member of APT Studios since its founding in 1995.
Vollmer's oeuvre focuses on geometric and organic abstract sculpture using wood, steel, Perspex, and found objects to investigate concepts of line, form, space, rhythm and mood.
W-rap V (Green) is part of a series of sculptures for which I have followed a 'wrapping around' pattern of constructing replicated and changing units of steel geometric shapes nodding to the rhythm and space of poetry and music.
