Birds have long captured artist Joseph Dupré's (b. 1987) imagination, appearing and disappearing with a mystery known only to themselves. Birds cannot be possessed or contained, and it is precisely this freedom that gives them their resonance. Presented individually, Dupré's birds become vessels for the sacred and the unknowable. Often finished with golden beaks, they suggest beauty, value and transcendence. Living and working in the UK, Dupré studied at the Royal Drawing School, London (2015-16).
