Biography

TREVOR SUTTON (b 1948)

Trevor Sutton is a London-based painter and printmaker, working with abstract forms to create sensuous, physical works.

After graduating from art school with a post-graduate diploma in 1972, Sutton was a Senior Lecturer in Painting at Chelsea School of Art and Design from 1973 to 2000 and a Research Fellow there from 2000 to 2003. His work is exhibited worldwide with his strongest links outside the UK in Japan, Austria, Denmark, and The Netherlands. Throughout his career his paintings and prints have demonstrated the aesthetics of a ritualistic and ordered artistic process, working with circular, square or rectangular formats and grids.
