Striking painting Auntie by Flowers artist Aleah Chapin is set to be included in a brand new publication entitled The Figure: Painting, Drawing and Sculpture. The book is a celebration of figurative art, exploring both traditional methods and contemporary developments. Essays by accomplished critics and writers will chart the evolution of figurative technique. The entire publication is centred around the New York Academy of Art, an institution at the forefront of representational art where many of the featured artists once studied or taught. This richly illustrated volume bears witness to the enduring appeal of the human figure in fine art. The publication will be available to purchase from September 30th, 2014.
