Bernard Cohen Talk

LONDON Kingsland Road
14 November, 2:00 – 4:00pm

Listen back to an intimate 'in conversation' event between abstract British painter and printmaker Bernard Cohen and Jessica Rutterford of Flowers Gallery.

Cohen discusses the development of his career over many years, during which he has worked outside of the confines of formal association with an individual art movement. The talk focuses upon the artist's continuing process of discovery and his attempt to generate and unravel the full complexity of life, which Ian McKay describes as an “ongoing search for meaning in its broadest, most human sense.”

According to Cohen, his paintings can be seen to contain multiple paintings within their composition, held together by an overall organizing principle of rhythm.

Bernard's new book About Now, written by Ian McKay and published by Flowers Gallery is now available to order. This 92 page publication draws attention to enduring and, in some cases, overlooked themes present throughout the artist’s work.
